Dunoyer Family

The Dunoyer Family immigrated from Colombia to the United States seeking asylum in 2002. The head of the house Roberto Dunoyer worked as a finance minister for a government program. The reason they left was because the family started receiving threats from the communist guerrilla called the National Liberation Army after they tried extorting him and he refused. After leaving Colombia the threats continued. the family’s asylum case was denied but in 2008 former congressman Duncan Hunter  filed private legislation on the family which protected them from deportation. The family of four have been living in the U.S. for over 17 years now. The new immigration changes done by the Trump Administration has led this family to receive notifications of their deportation.
